The late Mah Teck Chong was born on 14 January 1967. He graduated from the University of London (External) in 1992 and obtained his CLP in 1994. He served his pupillage under Mr Chin Tee Fut and was admitted as an Advocate & Solicitor of the High Court of Malaya on 15 February 1995.

The late Mah Teck Chong had since 2003 practised as a sole-proprietor under the name of Mah Teck Chong & Co. until his demise on 17 August 2007. He was known to many as a quiet person, but who was always ready to lend a helping hand whenever needed. His friendship and company will always be kept, loved and cherished.
