As part of its Professional Development Programme, the PDC is pleased to present the above Seminar by Mr Balwant Singh Sidhu on Thursday, 19.07.2012 at 5.30pm. Venue: KL Bar Auditorium.

• Application of Section 2 of the Act
• Solemnisation of Marriages of Malaysians Abroad
• Validity of the Marriages
• Lex loci celebrationes
• Solemnisation of Malaysian Marriages at Malaysian Embassies abroad (Section 26)
• Registration of Foreign Marriages of Malaysians at Malaysian Embassies abroad (Section 31)
• Registration of such Divorces (Section 107)
• Effect of Obtaining a Foreign Decree of Divorce in relation to division of assets acquired during a marriage (Section 76)
Participants are required to bring along a copy of the Law Reform (Marriages & Divorce) Act 1976 and encouraged to read the case of Gurcharan Singh Karnal Singh v. Mninder Kaur Piara Singh (2011) 2 CLJ 204

Members of the Bar – RM60.00 per participant
Non-Members – RM100.00 per participant

• Registration is Strictly on a First-Come, First-Served Basis
• The Organisers Reserve the Right to Postpone or Cancel the Seminar if Necessary
• Fee paid is non-refundable unless the Seminar is cancelled by the Organisers. If a participant is unable to attend, a replacement participant is allowed.
• The registration counter will be opened for registration at 5.00pm on the day of the event. The Seminar will start at 5.30pm sharp. Please be punctual.
• Kindly note that Photo ID (IC, Driving Licence, etc) is required for Registration.
• Certificate of Attendance for participants is only provided upon request by filling up the Evaluation and Feedback Form and returning it to the Registration Desk AT THE END OF THE SEMINAR.
• To be eligible for the Certificate of Attendance, please take note that:
• You must participate in the Seminar until its completion including the Q & A Session and be present throughout the Seminar
• Latecomers (30 Minutes after the start time) and those who leave early will not be
entitled to receive the Certificate of Attendance
