PDC Series on The Effects of Divorce on 14.06.2012, 12.07.2012 and 09.08.2012

As part of the monthly FREE Seminar for Members of the Bar, Pupils-in-Chambers and Law Students conducted by the KLBC under the Malaysian Bar's resolution regarding a mandatory Continuing Professional Development ("CPD") Scheme, the KL Bar Professional Development Committee has scheduled the following 3 Seminars for June, July and August 2012 -

 
Topic: Divorce and the Emotional Impact on the Spouse
Speaker: Mr Warren Tan
Time: 2.30pm to 4.30pm
Date: 14.06.2012
 
Topic: Effects of Divorce on Adult Children and Teenage Children (2 CPD Points)
Speaker: Ms Yvonne Lee
Time: 2.30pm to 4.30pm
Date: 12.07.2012
 
Topic: Effects of Divorce on Young Children and the Various Therapies Available for Young Children (2 CPD Points)
Speaker: Ms Lisa Sum
Time: 2.00pm to 4.00pm
Date: 09.08.2012
 
About the Speakers
 
Warren Tan is a well-known marriage & family therapist/trainer & clinical supervisor in Singapore & Malaysia with 31 years of field experience.  Warren specializes in seeing couples for marital issues including spousal violence & extra-marital affairs.  Warren provides training & clinical supervision to social workers & counselors in both Singapore & Malaysia.  His hands-on practical & practice-orientated approach in his talks & training workshops has been well received by professional counselors as well as the general public in both countries. 
 
Yvonne Lee is the Director of Enrich Counselling & Therapy Centre. She has registered with Lembaga Kaunselor Malaysia as a licensed counsellor. She holds a Master of Science in Guidance & Counselling from Universiti Putra Malaysia. She also has an Advanced Diploma in Satir Transformational Systemic Therapy from Satir Institute of Pacific, Canada and Grad Cert in Expressive Therapies with Children & Adolescent from Expressive Therapies Institute of Australia. Yvonne has been appointed as a trainer for Pre-marriage Education by Lembaga Penduduk dan Pembangunan Keluarga Malaysia (LPPKN). She has experience in counselling teenagers, adults, couples and families. 
 
Lisa Sum Ching Yang is the Director of Training at Agape Counselling Centre in Malaysia. She is a facilitator of the Smart Start Pre-Marital Counselling Programe under the Ministry of Women, Family and Community Development. She has a Diploma of Counselling from UM (CE) and a Bachelor in Theology, Malaysia Bible Seminary (MBS). She also graduated with a Certificate in Expressive Therapies from Australia.
 
As this is a series of FREE Seminars, Members of the Bar, Pupils-in-Chambers and Law Students who have registered are to ensure their attendance. Otherwise, it may deprive others of the opportunity to attend. Any cancellation shall be in writing and received by the KL Bar Secretariat by 3 working days prior to the Seminar. Members of the Bar, Pupils-in-Chambers and Law Students who have registered for the Seminar and fail to turn up, will not be allowed to register for future Free Seminars, Workshops,Talks and Forums organised by the PDC. 
 
REGISTRATION FEE
 
Members of the Bar, Pupils-in-Chambers / Law Students – FREE but registration is required.
 
Non-Members – RM20.00 per participant per seminar or RM50.00 for all 3 Seminars. Registration Must be Accompanied With Payment to Guarantee Your Place

NOTE:
 
• Registration is Strictly on a First-Come, First-Served Basis
 
• The Organisers Reserve the Right to Postpone or Cancel the Seminar if Necessary
 
• Fee paid is non-refundable unless the Seminar is cancelled by the Organisers.  If a participant is unable to attend, a replacement participant is allowed.
 
• The registration counter will be opened for registration at 2.00pm on 14.06.2012 and 12.07.2012 and 1.30pm on 09.08.2012.  The Seminar will start at 2.30pm sharp on 14.06.2012 and 12.07.2012 and 2.00pm on 09.08.2012. Please be punctual.
 
• Kindly note that Photo ID (IC, Driving Licence, etc) is required for Registration.
 
• Certificate of Attendance for participants is only provided upon request by filling up the Evaluation and Feedback Form and returning it to the Registration Desk AT THE END OF THE SEMINAR.
  
• To be eligible for the Certificate of Attendance, please take note that:
 
•  You must participate in the Seminar until its completion including the Q & A Session and be                         present throughout the Seminar
  
  •  Latecomers (30 Minutes after the start time) and those who leave early will not be 
  entitled to receive the Certificate of Attendance
